Iyengar yoga emphasizes practicing the poses with correct alignment while developing sensitive self-awareness. Each class is designed to provide a balanced experience of flexibility, strength, stamina, and calm through thoughtfully constructed sequences.
New and continuing students of all ages, levels of experience and abilities can find an appropriate class to guide and support their practice.
Classes are taught in 8-week sessions in order to provide an integrated, effective learning experience. You can begin at any time. Drop-ins are always welcome .
The studio is equipped with a rope wall, blocks, blankets, bolsters, belts, chairs, shoulder stand supports, eye bags, and mats.
I love the classes at Live Oak Yoga. Karyl provides a calm, supportive presence. In private classes Karyl taught me asanas that reduced my joint and back pain and also poses to ease digestive discomfort. During treatment for breast cancer, the restorative yoga she taught me minimized not only the side effects of chemotherapy, but also gave me a vehicle with which to nurture myself.
